June 6th Ottawa D-Day Invasion

Sunday June 6th was a fun yet solemn event at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa.  There are many facts and artifacts on display that amaze visitors, new and return alike. We then had some inspiring  speeches and ceremonies in the memorial hall..  After the museum visit some went to Beechwood Cemetery to pay further respects to our fallen soldiers.

Thanks to all who were involved in putting this event together and I look forward to next year.

Highway Of Heroes Salute Ride

This past weekend I had the honor of participating in the Highway of Heroes Salute ride, a ride dedicated to wounded soldiers passing on home soil. The family of Cpl. Darren Fitpatrick were present for the ride as were many bikers and supporters in red cars. It was quite a sight to see the bridges lined with people waving flags and banners spanning the Highway of Heroes from Trenton to Downsview.
